For the convenience of our residents and their guests, Schofield Residence launched wireless internet service (WiFi) in March. The complimentary wireless access is available in our lobby and parlor library. "WiFi is a valuable service that allows residents and their visitors to stay in touch with the community during their stay," said John Malicki, Administrator. "We're pleased to offer this service to make it easier to chat with family, share photos, or get news and entertainment while you stay or visit at Schofield." To use the service, open your wireless device and a login screen will appear. Since the service is password protected, visitors will need to obtain a card with the password from the Receptionist. This password will change periodically, so if you sign in and a previous password is not working, simply ask the receptionist for another card. Our service is provided by Wandering WiFi. Visitors who need help logging in may call the Wandering WiFi help desk for assistance. Their number is listed on the password card and the login page.

Now that our WiFi is installed, we have a volunteer who is available to assist residents and their families who would like to contact each other using Skype. This volunteer has offered to bring his own computer and set up the connection for our residents. You can chat "face to face" online with this free video call service (of course you'll need your own Skype account, computer and connection at your end.)

Families and friends who are interested in this can contact Laura Mondello at 874-1566, ext. 316 or lmondello@schofieldcare.org She will put you in touch with our volunteer who will arrange a time that works for all involved.
