Kenmore Arts Society Features Local Mother-Daughter Team

Kenmore, NY – The beautiful oil paintings of Dorothy Pennell will be on display alongside the exquisite photographs taken by her daughter, Shawn Marie Kirwan, at the Schofield Residence 3333 Elmwood Ave. in Kenmore from December 2 through December 30. Schofield’s monthly art display showcases the work of local artists from the Kenmore Art Society, a partnership that has spanned more than 30 years.

The exhibit is free and open to the public M-F from 8:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m., and from 9:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Schofield Residence is part of Schofield Care, a not-for-profit long term care and home health company founded in 1910 and located at 3333 Elmwood Avenue in Kenmore.

Barbeque Chicken Dinners To-Go Available at Schofield Home Care Dec. 1

Kenmore, NY, Nov. 16, 2017 – Schofield Home Care Services, located at 2757 Elmwood Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda, is holding a Chiavetta’s Chicken BBQ Fundraiser on Friday, Dec. 1 between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 p.m. The drive-thru event will include chicken, potato salad, cole slaw and a roll.

Pre-sale tickets for $10 may be purchased at the Home Care office or at Schofield Residence at 3333 Elmwood Ave. between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event, but walk-ins cannot be guaranteed a dinner.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit Schofield’s Home Health Services, offering rehabilitation therapy, nursing and home health aides to Erie and Niagara county residents.  Schofield Home Health is a part of Schofield Care, a not-for-profit, community-based organization serving more than 700 individuals a week in home care, adult day health care, rehabilitation and long term nursing care.

Randy Gerlach Appointed President and CEO of Schofield Care

Kenmore NY, Oct. 31, 2017 – The Board of Trustees/Directors has promoted Randy Gerlach president and CEO of Schofield Care. Mr. Gerlach’s appointment follows Edward Gray’s announcement this month of his retirement after forty-three (43) years as President of Schofield Residence, Inc. and its affiliates, Schofield Home Health Care Services and the Schofield Foundation.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to have worked for, and with, so many fine and wonderful Schofield employees, volunteers and board members, along with professional associates and colleagues,” stated Mr. Gray who will retire on Nov. 1, 2017.

The board and I are indebted to Ed for his leadership over the past 43 years,” added James Phillips, chair of the Board of Trustees/Directors. “We will use the foundation he helped to create to continue the vision and mission that Dr. Jenny Schofield started 107 years ago. We have confidence in Mr. Gerlach to move Schofield Care forward and continue building a caring and compassionate long-term care system to meet the needs of our clients and our community.”

“I am honored to lead Schofield’s legacy of caring into its next chapter,” noted Randy Gerlach. “We have recently revised our mission, vision and core values to reflect our vision to develop healthcare, residential living and community based services to benefit adults of all ages.”

Schofield appoints Gerlach President and CEO

During the last 2 ½ years, Mr. Gerlach served as administrator of Schofield Residence, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility offering short-term rehab therapy and long term care as well as a dedicated Hospice unit in partnership with Hospice Buffalo, Inc.

Prior to joining Schofield Care, Mr. Gerlach was administrator of a large nursing home in the city of Buffalo. He has extensive experience in health care management and nursing home administration locally and throughout New York State. Mr. Gerlach is president of the New York State Health Facilities Association, District 10 and a member of the board of directors of the New York State Health Facilities Association. Mr. Gerlach also serves on the American Health Care Association Life Safety Committee and is on the Board of Upstate New York Transplant Services. He is a resident of Williamsville where he lives with his wife, Claudia.
