Nursing Home Job Training
Certified Nurse Aide Training Program
In order to become a Certified Nurse's Aide, New York State requires that individuals attend a 100-hour training class and pass a written and clinical test.
Schofield Residence offers this training program for individuals who want to become CNA's. You must first submit an application and be hired by Schofield Residence.
Classes are held throughout the year.
Applications for CNA training are accepted approximately 6 weeks before each class. Contact us for the next class date.
The class consists of 5 weeks of paid training. The first two weeks is classroom training. The third week is a supervised clinical rotation, where you will practice the skills you learned in the classroom. During the fourth and fifth weeks, you will work in our Nursing department receiving further orientation to the job.
While orienting in the Nursing department, you will be prepared to take the New York State required clinical and written exams. Upon successful completion of these tests, you will be certified as a CNA! Once you're certified, you'll get a certificate that states you are a Certified Nurse's Aide in New York State.
