"I am pleased that Schofield has warm-hearted people who care about clients and employees. It's encouraging." --SHHCS employee

Home health care services are provided to older adults and disabled individuals in their own homes, apartments or other community settings.

Is home health care right for you? Have you been told you're a "people person"? Are you compassionate and empathetic? If you're looking for a personally rewarding position that provides you with a flexible schedule and the chance to set your hours based on your needs, then a job in home health care may be just what you're looking for.

In home health care agencies like Schofield Home Health Care Services, Inc., common positions include:

Personal Care Aide (PCA)--Personal care aides provide patients with assistance in the activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

They provide the patient with help with basic personal care such as bathing, oral hygiene, toileting, skin care, transfers with mechanical lifts, walking and exercise. They also assist with light housekeeping, shopping and light cooking.

Home Health Aide (HHA) --Home health aides provide nonprofessional nursing services and aid to patients with their activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Home Health Aides can provide the same care as PCA's, but are also trained to: provide range of motion; record fluid intake; take vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse); assist with dressing changes (bandaging); transfers with mechanical lifts; and can assist with home exercise programs under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.
